So about two weeks ago I decided to begin my digital pedagogy project which is creating videos making authentic Mexican food. I asked my mom to video me making rice. I thought that this would in no way, shape, or form be a difficult task. I was so very wrong! My mother and I could not stop laughing every time that the camera started recording because we are both somewhat private people that do not like being videoed and therefore the situation was quite unnatural. I may be adding the blooper real, but I need to make sure that all the words are appropriate. I have not yet cooked since then but will be doing so and videoing it in a different manner this time, one in which I do not have to be on camera. As has been a constant in this class, learning how to navigate technology and trying to do it in a natural and authentic way has been quite tedious. Here's to hoping that round 2 will go better for me. I'll be remaking the rice video Tuesday night so that we can have a snack for Wednesday's class.
